Mosh pits at sleep concert12/12/2023 I almost got dragged into the moshpit at my first ever concert, it was. I'm only advising op wear something protective because falling down at a concert usually happens at a weird angle that can twist your legs. When I saw Laibach it was mostly a bunch of cougars that wanted to dance and there was only one song where there was really tame moshing. But really I'm just rambling now and the other person that said the concert is probably going to be older people that don't mosh anymore is correct. And I don't know about what it's like in Italy, but in America even though most crowds are very friendly like you said there's always 2-3 belligerent drunks in the crowd that will violently shove their way from the edge of the floor so they can get in the circle for the "tough guy song". Not because people doing it on purpose, but the movement of the people in the circle can cause the rest of the crowd to move around a lot and if you are standing at the edge of the circle you can suddenly find yourself a few feet inside of it, and then someone bumps into you, and then you find yourself running around the edge of the pit too until someone nice enough realizes that you didn't want to get in and tries to make space for you. While you're right about people helping each other back up, I've definitely had problems before with being accidentally thrown into the pit. The fun of a mosh pit is to be in a crowd of other people, feeling their energy, and being part of something bigger than yourself. A good pit will have people colliding with each other, but not throwing punches or elbows. They've said it all way better than I can.īut honestly? Watch the mosh pit, then maybe even give it a try. Get earplugs professionally made for you by an Otolaryngologist because concerts are VERY LOUD.Īctually, check out this thread for concert advice. My advice, if you've never been to a concert, is to stay near the back. They're not full of hate, they truly love the event. This is, in part, because Metal creates a great community of like-minded people who all just want to have a good time. I've been to quite a few concerts, admittedly never been to Rammstein, but Mosh pits don't suck you in and they're not about hurting people.Īdmittedly there are a bad apples in any barrel, but for the most part what I've seen is when someone gets hurt accidentally 2 or 3 people will be there right away to help them up and get them out.
