Email airtable integrations12/14/2023 ![]() Tasks like collecting key notifications into a single source, or syncing information across multiple tools can help connect your tool stack to create a cohesive, connected workflow. If you can identify a repetitive task across your workflow, odds are that you can streamline it with an integration. These iPaaS providers like Zapier, Workato, Integromat, Automate.io, Unito, and Parabola provide connective glue to establish effective communications between apps.Īnd when you want to build a more custom-tailored connection between your apps-like a workflow that involves complex connections and multiple actions across apps-the Airtable scripting app and API can make it possible. Your number of available integrations expands even more when you leverage popular integration platforms as a service (iPaaS) connectors. Using Airtable Apps and Automations, you can integrate many popular tools with Airtable. That helps you keep your team focused on your work-not your tooling. Using Airtable, you can integrate your apps of choice to create a cohesive, unified workflow. And it’s hard to reap the full extent of your apps’ benefits. Without a strategy to unify tools like those in your workflow, it’s easy to lose valuable time to repetitive tasks. Think about the time, for example, that you might spend updating a customer record in Salesforce, and then using a messaging or email tool to tell the rest of the account team about the update. But jumping around between multiple apps can come at a cost to productivity. The tools you use every day-like Google Workspace, Salesforce, and Jira-are just a handful of the apps we lean on to stay productive at work. ![]() We live in an era of useful, innovative software, so it’s no wonder that many organizations have increased the number of apps they use to help them accomplish even more. Prodeus fps12/14/2023 ![]() ![]() It's familiar stuff, but it's also a solid backdrop for the much more impressive core gameplay and aesthetic. The overarching goal was to find various keycards to progress deeper into the non-linear level, eventually opening up a portal to escape through. The game features a hand-crafted campaign from industry FPS veterans, co-op and. Experience the quality you’d expect from a modern AAA game, designed with retro aesthetics and gameplay that invoke the tech-imposed limits of older hardware. It sees the player crawling through hellish facilities and outdoor spaces, finding new weapons and slaying hordes of demonic creatures. Prodeus is a first-person shooter of old, re-imagined using modern rendering techniques and technology. This mission was the biggest and is most emblematic of what to expect from the game. Still, it illustrated the fluidity of Prodeus' mechanics, which were on most clearly on display in the second mission. It was reminiscent of the Pilot's Gauntlet in Titanfall 2, but not as elaborate. These two familiarize the player with the mechanics, and while the first mission was rather basic, the third provided a nice obstacle course to speed through. Of the three missions available in the Beta, the first was largely a tutorial, and the third was essentially a bonus stage. ![]() Related: Here's Every Major Franchise Microsoft Owns With The Bethesda Purchase Much of this comes from the punch of its gunplay and the spectacle of its presentation. While the news was welcomed, it was not surprising considering the early indications it would make its debut at the show. One of the biggest reveals was a port of the immensely popular Persona 4 Golden, a game that many feared was trapped on Sony's handheld the PlayStation Vita. If you are a fan of the original DOOM that was released by idSoftware for MS-DOS in 1993, I have a game for you.Prodeus, created by the Bounding Box Software team, takes everything you loved about that original title and cranks up the amount of blood and brutality. It wasn't only the early first-person shooter tributes to take the spotlight at the presentation. This trend can be t raced back to the initial release of Dusk in 2017. Many of these came from the New Blood Games showcase that displayed a heap of inspired early shooters like Maximum Evil, Amp Evil, and Gloomwood. The PC Gaming Show had an solid mix of genre but the revival of the early first-person shooter took up a sizable spot. That distinguishing look is important for a game like Prodeus as it enters the market during a rise of Old School shooter revivals. The trailer notes that those looking for more can create, share and browse through levels by the community providing content beyond the campaign. Small snippets from the trailer confirm that the old tropes of key cards and power ups will come into play.īeyond the gameplay of chaotic demon shooting, Prodeus is offering players the tools to construct their own levels of mayhem. Even the movements on enemies seem slightly more static creating something that definitely looks new, despite evoking old styles. Prodeus has that sprite based Doom look, but takes that style and blends it into a 3D space. Prodeus, more than others based on the trailer, looks to combine the two. Within the indie gaming space on PC is a new trend of the nostalgia act on the early 3D shooters of the platform in the vein of Quake and Doom. ![]()

Modem vs router12/14/2023 ![]() ![]() Therefore, it is safe to say that you need both a modem and a router if you want Wi-Fi in your home. However, if you have multiple devices and want all of them to connect to the internet, you’ll need a router. ![]() For instance, if you have only one device that needs access to the internet, you technically don’t need a router. ![]() Well, there’s no straightforward way of telling which of these devices you need without first looking at your specific internet needs. On the other hand, a wireless router uses a built-in antenna to wirelessly transmit the network signal to other devices. A wired router must be connected to your computer and other devices through an ethernet cable to transmit the network signal. There are two main types of routers: wired and wireless. However, this usually isn’t the case because a home or office network comprises multiple devices that need to access the internet. Instead, you can plug that device’s network cable into the modem and directly access the internet. You technically don’t need a router if you have one device on your network. Using the address, you can control the network properties of each device, such as access and bandwidth, through your router’s settings.Ī typical router will have a switch and multiple ports so your devices can all connect to the internet. And that’s where an IP address comes in.Īn IP address is a unique number that identifies every device on the network, helping the router to distribute the internet signal correctly. With multiple devices connected and needing to communicate, a router requires a mechanism to identify each device on the network. When multiple devices are connected to the same router, they form a network called the Local Area Network (LAN). This can be pretty inconvenient because it will render devices such as mobile phones and computers immobile. Without it, you’ll need to connect your device directly to the modem using an ethernet cable for internet access. Usually, a router is connected to the modem via an ethernet cable. This includes computers, tablets, phones, smart home devices, etc. Understanding RoutersĪs the name suggests, a router is a device that routes or distributes your internet connection to all the devices connected to the network. Most modems have three ports: one that connects the device to the internet, another to the power source, and a final one to the router. That is why a modem is also referred to as a modulator-demodulator. It also modulates the digital signals transmitted from your computer into analog signals to allow your computer’s data to be sent over the internet. And that’s where the modem comes in.Ī modem demodulates the incoming analog signals into digital signals so your computer can understand them. To access the internet, you’ll need a device to convert the analog signals you receive from your provider into digital signals that your computer and other digital devices can understand. While the internet transmits analog signals, digital devices such as your phone, computer, and tablet can only decode digital signals. Two main signals are transmitted between devices and the internet: an analog signal and a digital signal. A signal, in simple terms, is an electromagnetic wave that transmits data from one device to another. ![]()

Colossal cave adventure source code basic12/14/2023 ![]() ![]() It’s only at the end that you learn about the cute frame narrative wrappings. All you know is what you’re told at the start: You’re exploring a cavern to see sights and collect treasure. I found myself lost a lot, but I always managed to find a weird item or path forward that gave me enough to continue.įor all its charm and flaws, Colossal Cave is a warm “Sierra” passion project that takes you to a simpler time when you were just dropped into a game with only an idea of what’s to come. I didn’t always know where to go or what to do, but I kept exploring and playing. In an age of having nearly every objective displayed on a HUD, it was refreshing to walk down the streams and through the darkness of Colossal Cave. However, with little instruction or hint toward the solution, it took me a frustratingly long time to realize I needed to drop my recently acquired Black Wand before I could proceed. Seeing a massive, hissing snake vanish after completing one puzzle was a thrill. Though piecing the puzzles together can be confusing, I always felt properly rewarded and excited when I finally found the solutions. ![]() Colossal Cave retains a classic adventure game bump in that situations, characters, and items don’t always work intuitively, making it a test of patience for any stranded explorers. It always feels like you’re three steps behind, but with enough time and walking, you’ll eventually find your way.Ĭolossal Cave has players climbing ladders, opening doors, and, yes, even battling a dragon, all while completing as many crucial actions as possible. Like the original, you’re likely to regularly get lost while utilizing trial-and-error tactics to find the next treasure or way forward. Players are tasked with achieving the highest point total (of a possible 350) by collecting special treasures while uncovering the secrets and mysteries underneath the eponymous cave. ![]() You’re still solving text adventure problems but with intuitive controls, ambient music and sound effects, and a lantern of 3D graphics to light and guide your path.Įxploring the caves and isolated island above is a colorful journey full of treasure, magic, and wonder. Colossal Cave Adventure may as well be the bedrock in which the 2023 release is carved, but Colossal Cave is an exciting adventure waiting to be had by anyone okay with the dust and debris from all the game design excavations. It’s impossible to separate the 47 years of distance between the two titles. A journey that takes place across the mysterious caverns buried beneath a seemingly isolated island, Colossal Cave remains powered by the text adventure playset tools and rules. This new version of Colossal Cave is one of the most articulated text adventure games, a style it retains despite the new magical realism and storybook art style. ![]() The original title, 1976’s Colossal Cave Adventure, is already one of the most influential games ever, but Roberta and Ken interrupting 25 years of retirement to transform a text adventure into a brand-new experience is as inspiring as it is exciting. The ideas and dreams of Roberta and Ken Williams influenced so much of game development and publishing that it feels like a gift from the past to receive a 3D re-interpretation of a black-and-white text adventure game that ultimately gave life to Sierra. Iconic titles like Phantasmagoria and King’s Quest unlocked the code of possibilities for both developers and players, proving anything in your imagination can materialize in a video game. The story of Sierra Entertainment is as timeless as its catalog, which includes multiple influential game changers. ![]()

A climactic clutch culminating in a magnificently destructive display of fireworks leaves the Coggin sibs well-positioned for bright futures. Better yet, in Boz she has created a scene-stealing force of nature, a free spirit who’s never happier than when he’s stirring up mischief. Teele spins her adventure around a sturdy protagonist whose love for his little sister is matched only by his fierce desire for something better in life for them both and tucks in an outstanding supporting cast featuring several notably strong-minded, independent women (Page, whose glare “would kill spiders dead,” not least among them). The hot pursuit of malign and indomitable Great-Aunt Beauregard, the Coggins’ only living relative, forces all three to leave the troupe for further flights and misadventures.
